Love this, Amy! It's beautiful when your kids can bring you back to yourself- as you've done for them countless times. (I also just love your writing style!)

I was there, remember? Well, not at the beginning of your "night", but you know what? When Tiff, the boys and I walked into your house (or should I say ran into your house), you looked great even with wet hair and that "oh what a night" look. And, your boys were great. They greated us and everything was o.k. Believe me, shit does happen and there is nothing you can do about it except try to catch a breath and say "o.k,, it's going to get better". And, you know what?
It does get better - don't ask me how but after all the screaming and yelling and whatever, it all seems to melt away and we are back to our old self. I've been there when my kids were growing up and I have to say I am ashamed of how I acted sometimes. I'm sure if you ask my grown daughter (your neighbor) she will tell you the same thing. Times were not always peaches and cream and our house during those years and if I could take back all the screaming, I would. But, I can't and I hope my children love me today even though I was that "mom from hell" at times. You are a great mom and your boys prove that.
